In 1928, the Roanoke Sunlight Bakery opened its doors with a promise of innovation. An advertisement in the Roanoke Times celebrated its state-of-the-art facility, complete with “modern utensils” and “magic mixing bowls”—cutting-edge technology for the era. Nearly 100 years later, that same forward-thinking spirit inspired the creation of the Sunlight Bakery Lofts. Rather than erase the building’s history, we embraced it, transforming the former bakery into distinctive loft apartments that combine authentic industrial character with the best conveniences of modern living.
